The primary responsibilities for this position include providing IT help desk support and system administration for external clients. Secondary responsibilities include introductory computer forensics work. Specifically, the successful candidate will spend approximately 60% of their time at various client sites around the DC metro area providing IT support (Level 1 through server/network administration) and the remainder of their time on forensics projects. The forensics projects include assisting with real investigations by conducting analysis using various computer forensic tools and techniques . No prior forensics experience required as training will be provided to the successful candidate. Occasional domestic and possibly international travel may be involved. Government security clearance is not required but a private background check will be conducted.
The candidate must be an experienced self-starter and problem solver that can work well independently as well as within a team. The candidate should possess good foundational knowledge and experience in Windows desktop/server administration, MS Exchange, Active Directory and networking in a multi-server environment. The position will provide opportunities for the candidate to gain more experience in technology support. In addition, training will be provided in forensic technology and methodologies. The candidate should be prepared to work in varying environments including incident response, with occasional travel (10%-20%).
