A large manufacturing company
During a random review of the company's internet usage logs, the client noticed Web surfing traffic to an "anonymizer" service, which enables a user to bypass the client's policy of blocking pornographic sites. Additional research into the visited sites indicated that they operate on the fringes of the child pornography subculture.
The SunBlock team was brought in to help the client's Human Resources team. Although the offending employee was immediately terminated and escorted off company premises, SunBlock analysts were brought in to help the client's Human Resources team work with the FBI on any potential criminal investigation. A search of the employee's work space revealed pornographic photographs of children, at which point the FBI was brought into the investigation. SunBlock investigators used forensic techniques to image the former employee's computer and provide a copy to the FBI along with all physical evidence.
SunBlock helped the client to proactively work with law enforcement. This open cooperation showed law enforcement that the client wanted to handle the situation properly and had no involvement in the terminated employee's activity.
